# Quickstart

## 1. Sign up

Log in at [datacircle.dev/login](https://idle.datacircle.dev/login) with your work email (freemail addresses are refused). You start with \$5 of credit, plus \$20 for 24 hours in launch week, from your first authenticated call (`GET /credits/` counts) (see [Credits](/credits)).

Your API key is on the page once you're in. Read it or reset it from the API:

```bash theme={null}
curl https://idle.datacircle.dev/me/api-key/ -H "Authorization: Token <api_key>"
curl -X POST https://idle.datacircle.dev/me/api-key/reset/ -H "Authorization: Token <api_key>"
```

The reset returns the new key; the old one stops working.

## 2. Spend credits

Credits buy provider data at cost. Already calling iBlinked or Up2Data? Change only the host and add two headers. Same paths, same params, same response bytes:

```bash theme={null}
# iBlinked: LinkedIn profile
curl -X POST "https://idle.datacircle.dev/v1/enrich/single" \
  -H "X-Datacircle-Provider: iblinked" -H "X-Datacircle-Key: <api_key>" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" -d '{"token": "williamhgates", "include": ["all"]}'
# Up2Data: LinkedIn profile
curl -X POST "https://idle.datacircle.dev/v1/profiles/enrich" \
  -H "X-Datacircle-Provider: up2data" -H "X-Datacircle-Key: <api_key>" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" -d '{"url": "https://www.linkedin.com/in/williamhgates"}'
```

The body is the provider's own. Our data is in response headers: `X-Datacircle-Cost-USD` (what this call cost), `X-Datacircle-Balance-USD` (what you have left) and `X-Datacircle-Cache-Hit`. Without credit you get a 402.

## 3. Get the flat file

```bash theme={null}
curl https://idle.datacircle.dev/files/ -H "Authorization: Token <api_key>"
curl -X POST https://idle.datacircle.dev/files/<file_id>/download-link/ -H "Authorization: Token <api_key>"
```
